SimpliSafe is an award-winning home security company offering professional monitoring service and self-installed hardware. In 2015 while SimpliSafe was a growing startup, I led the complete redesign of their entire system and experience with a 10 person, holistic design team. The work included brand strategy, brand identity, ID, ME, physical interaction design, digital interaction design (mobile, desktop and on-device), design research and packaging.

We uncovered insights in the field from a deep design research phase with core users, extreme users and analogous experiences. That foundational work and synthesis led to a new strategy that influenced every element of the new experience, from how you unbox it, to how you install it, to the industrial design, to how you are presented alerts.

SimpliSafe launched its redesigned security system in early 2018. That same year, Hellman & Friedman acquired SimpliSafe in a deal valuing the company at over $1 billion.
